We stand today when heroes—in authority or not, in hope or despair, in unity or division—go beyond all forms of contribution and service for their people. Through this day, we remember and honor them all.

As we commemorate National Heroes Day, we recognize not only our own countrymen, but also those overseas who fight for equality, fairness, and justice for their country. Across the world, people stand up for justice and truth in conflict areas—from defenders of democracy in Myanmar and Palestine to journalists risking their lives in war-torn regions to climate activists pushing governments toward accountability. These individuals remind us that heroism is not just a memory of the past but an ongoing and living struggle shared by the international community.

We reflect on what it means to not only recognize individuals putting themselves on the frontlines, but also to realize the harsh realities that continue to plague and cause contemporary issues around the world. We call for the protection of freedom and national identity by actively advocating for justice on human rights issues on a local and global scale. Heroes not only echo the injustices of the past, they also combat the powers inflicting harm to the greater good of the people. The modern world order needs leaders and citizens alike to be more critical, empowered, and driven to bring genuine solutions rooted in modern social cancers.

For a country to be led by reliable and accountable leaders, we should inspire to become heroes of our own. Ones that create secure communities, promote inclusive development, and recognize true national freedom.
